LAMM Style Bodykit
This is a replica of the kit fitted to the 75 LAMM
convertibles that were produced in 1989. Very similar in width and from a
distance similar in style, to the ERA Kit, closer inspection reveals that the
kit is very much softer in appearance. Rounded edges on the bumpers, arches, and
skirts means that this kit complements the rounded shape of the Mini. Rover
fitted a 12-piece version to the Rover Convertibles, but the joints are in odd
places as per the ERA kit, and they look very very similar. The main kit that we
supply is the 8 piece "original" Lamm, since it is very easy to fit. A
pair of large rectangular fog lights are incorporated into the front bumper, and
a single fog light in the rear.
The arches have returns, which are simply bolted to the metal
work on the car by M6 x 25mm nuts and bolts, and provide an excellent, strong
and durable method of fixing. The sideskirts and arches fix into the ends of the
arches using the same method, whilst the front bumper has the additional benefit
of hidden fixings which go onto the standard number plate mount, and are
subsequently hidden by the number plate itself.
Rated as a one-spanner job, due to the perfect placement of
the panel joints, and fixing method, this is one of the easiest to fit. The kit
may be seamlessly fitted for better looks and better rust proofing, or fitted
with piping for reduced paintwork bills.
Wheels can vary from 5.5 x 13, to 7 x 13, with most customers
opting for the larger wheels for simplicity, and 14’s can also be accommodated
if required.
