Visit your local library and you will find some good books on magic or buy a magic set.  If you type magic in any web browser you will be able to access countless sites where you may be able to purchase magic books and also learn tricks.

If you decide to do this, do it wisely.   Learn a little at a time, practice what you learn and have respect for the art of magic.   The two main ingredients for good magic is how you present and entertain with the magic and your audience not knowing what you are about to do.

The real magic is you not the trick.   If you learn a trick, practice until you are perfect so that you can do it well.

Never, ever tell your audience how the trick is done and never repeat a trick because your audience will be waiting to discover the secret and the element of surprise is missing.

Always respect fellow magicians.  You may see someone perform a trick that you too can perform.   If you do, please don’t be smug and please never tell the remainder of his audience how he or she did it.  Enjoy the experience and learn from what you saw.

Always remember that magic is in the eyes of the beholder.  If you tell the secret you spoil the trick and destroy the magic for everyone including yourself.   A good magician never reveals his secrets.

A better and quicker way to gain knowledge and learn the skills required to become a proficient magician is to learn is from a master magician who can teach.
