Halloween is for Everyone

Halloween has evolved over the years into a multi-generational holiday.  It is no longer just an excuse for kids to indulge in parent-approved treats.  It has become an occasion for adults to dress up and hold parties, as well.

Creating a Halloween Atmosphere

Halloween conjures up images of good and evil characters of all ages, wizards, underground creatures, ghosts and goblins with their own special rituals and it seems to many people that a Halloween Party set in their own very haunted home is the perfect theme for an all ages party.

 Use lots of candles throughout your home for lighting to create the correct ambiance and atmosphere (out of reach of any young children, of course).   Decorating the ceiling with glow-in-the-dark stars is fantastic especially if you intend, as I would suggest keeping the lights low.

When decorating a party room or venue for Halloween try using stretchy spider webs, draped crepe streamers and hanging decorations. Life-size cut outs and giant standing props will surprise your guests and add mystery.

 Create a Harry Potter type Sorting Hat centrepiece for your buffet table decorated with stars, crescent moons, lightning bolts, and other wizard imagery.   The more tattered and frayed it looks, the better.

 Utilise cauldrons that are readily available from dressing up shops to hold food and drink and follow the many suggestion below.

Play Scary Halloween Music 

In hallways suspend black net from the ceiling to gently brush guest’s head as they walk past unsuspected and please don’t forget the “sounds”.   Record a tape of a woman moaning to create Moaning Myrtle and / or a man’s voice for ghosts.   Played softly continually in the hall or any other room guests may visit to maintain the suspense throughout your venue.

Wear Halloween Costume

 Insist guests come dressed as witches, ghouls, wizards, elves, goblins etc and everyone will be in the mood from the word go.   Trust Wizzi Wizard on this.   If there is one thing to help guests relax and get into the party spirit is fancy dress costume and it needn't cost a lot.

Face-painting is one of the most fun and creative ways to change someone's appearance into a Halloween character ready for a party or Trick or Treat outing - add a couple of stick-on wounds and you can cook up some really gruesome looks!

Alternatively a wig and a mask will disguise your everyday face, so you really look the part for your Halloween event.  With a superb range available there's something for every budget, so you don't have to raid the vault to transform yourself, unless you want to of course!
