The MUSE Project
This is an accommodation and support project from Housing Interaction Trust and Chiltern Hundreds Housing Association (Paradigm Housing). The aim of the MUSE Project is to allow young people with medium support needs the space and support to enable them to improve their situation and move on to successful independent living.
The project has run successfully since 2003. It consists of six flats in the Chilterns area. Referrals are taken from other agencies, e.g. mental health team or probation, or from the young person themselves. The young person then has a MUSE interview to see if they can be accepted onto the project.
Other agencies involved with the young person will provide HIT with information on their history and support needs.
Once they are on the project the young person will be offered an assured shorthold tenancy from Paradigm Housing and they will be supported on day-to-day issues by a HIT keyworker. The HIT worker would normally see the MUSE client for an hour each week and they would also be supported by the agency that referred them.
