1306 MAYFLOWER
On Saturday 16th February 2002, a 70 ton crane was used to lift the 21 ton boiler back into its frames. The crane was due to arrive at 10am, so we were surprised to see it arrive at 8. The boiler was lifted and after much adjustment was successfully attached to the ashpan. The boiler was then swung around and the frames moved into position. The boiler was finally lowered with fine adjustment into postion. The task was completed at around 1.30pm.
