Building a "Drangonfire" trike

Part 2 :- Engine wiring & remaining build

SECTION 3 :- spark plugs & pulleys

In stage 6 I painted the spark plugs white, then glued them in position first as this will aid the wiring process. With keeping with the colour scheme the pulleys & rocker covers were sanded, painted with either gold for the "Corvair" or "Forest green" for the dragontrike. I then glued on the top pulley & all the other pulleys, as well as the distributor cap & painted rocker covers.

SECTION 4 :- Distributor cap wiring & prep

The easiest way I found of wiring the trikes was to do the following, but as expected problems did arise. I cut the plastic tubing as in stage 6 but allowed an extra 1cm for the tubing to bend.
Here comes the problems. Problem one is the tubing is too large to fit on the pegs. I luckily had some spare tubing that was small enough to fit inside & then fit onto the pegs. If not you will have to use a small amount of superglue on the end of the tubing. The second problem I had was that some of the pegs snapped.

To resolve this I did the following. I drilled out where the snapped peg was with a 1mm drill bit. I then cut a 1cm piece of 1mm diameter wire out of my spares box & super glued this into the hole & allowed it to set. I then cut another length of tubing & then glued this onto the wire.

SECTION 5 :- Distributor cap wiring & prep

Before fitting the wiring into the spark plugs I fitted the cross beam & front tubing. As the wires have to go across the engine I also put on the drive belt, fuel line fixing frame. Now comes the time to be very careful & gently put each line onto the spark plugs. I found it better to follow this sequence 6/5/4/3/2/1 to connect the tubes.

From here the models will now split as the builds will be different so just follow the one you need.
