Mollie Picton-King (neé Ostle) has written a comprehensive and vivid history of her family's early days at Koorda in Western Australia

It is suggested that visitors to the site should first go to Mollie's Memoir, print it out and then read it while viewing the pictures from this album

The family loved Jaguar Cars

Richard Ostle died, suddenly, in 1964. Mary carried alone until her death in 1976. Young Richie also farmed at Koorda but eventually sold the farm and went on to run an hotel in Bridgetown.

In 1988, the Koorda Historical Society created a Pioneer Memorial Park in the town. Their family planted a tree there, with a plaque in memory of Richard and Mary.

While the school children of Koorda look on, Mollie and Betty unveil the plaque to their parents at the tree-planting ceremony in 1988.
