Medium-fit English-made side-saddle. Last used by lady of 5 feet 8 inches tall. Been used on a fit Fjord horse. 17.5 inches from back of fixed head to cantle, seat at its widest is 13 inches. Complete with balance girth, stirrup leather with quick-release mechanism on bar, and old, but serviceable, stirrup iron. £900 ono, plus p&p.

FOR SALE
Champion & Wilton style side saddle (c. 1920). Seat measures 17½ inches from cutback to cantle or 22 inches from front of fixed head to cantle. Seat width is 12½ inches. Tree is sound and is a narrow to narrow/medium in fit, gullet measures approx. 4½ inches across. Wide flared doeskin pommels and seat. Has an offside slit for a handkerchief and an unusual loop on the overgirth to secure the balance strap. In very good condition (some wear to doeskin), leather has been kept oiled and was reflocked recently by Leo Wright Saddlery, but linen will need replacing. Used on a 14.1hh high-withered Arab mare but will suit a larger horse with well defined withers and a narrow shoulder. £1,250 ono (will also consider swapping for a medium-fit side saddle in the 17- 17 1/2 inch range). More photos available.
Side saddle 'Queen' made from suede and brown leather. Bought used (made in the last couple of years) but still in excellent nearly new condition. Originally made for an Owen but I used it on my C&W as well. Useful for padding out the fixed head on a saddle which doesn't quite fit your leg. Suitable to use on a show saddle as it was professionally
made by a saddler and looks a lot nicer than wrapping a bandage around your pommel! These can only be crafted through a saddler and are quite expensive to have made (about £100), so a real deal at £50.00.Jeffries brown three fold leather side saddle girth with keepers for balance strap and overgirth. Used but still in excellent supple condition, no cracks and suitable for showing and hunting. Used on a 14.1hh Arab but she is too fat for it now! Measures 3 inches wide and 45 inches long. Paid nearly £100 last year, so a bargain at £45.00.
Chamois pad for a side saddle. This attaches underneath the nearside flap for your right calf to rest on (can be tacked on by a saddler or I just used the slot on it to attach onto the point strap). Ideal for horses with narrow shoulders
and saddles with not a lot of padding on them for more purchase when riding. Used but still in excellent usable condition. Never seen another like it, but a useful item! £25.00.Modern Mears 1920s sloping-front style side saddle habit jacket (Althorpe model) in finely woven navy wool. No apron but will match with any plain woven navy coloured apron. New with tags, never been worn. Size 38 inch (fits a UK size 12-14, my bust is 38 inches and this fits me). Length is long (I am 5ft 9in and this fits me well). In pristine condition suitable for showing. The Althorpe habit usually retails for £600+ so grab yourself a spare jacket for a bargain £85.00.
Modern Mears cutaway side saddle jacket in finely woven navy calvary twill. No apron but will match with any plain navy calvary twill apron. New in pristine shop condition suitable for showing, never been worn. Size 38 inch (fits a UK size 12-14, my bust is 38 inches and this fits me). Length is regular/long (I am 5ft 9in and this fits me well). Mears cutaways usually retail for £150+ or £500+ with apron so grab yourself a spare jacket for a bargain £85.00.
Vintage (c. 1920) light khaki-coloured calvary twill summer side saddle apron. In fair condition as there are marks and general wear throughout from age and use but still a very useful apron for schooling or hacking out. Waist measures 30 1/2 inches-31inches. Nearside length from waist to hem is 24 3/4 inches, right knee seam from waist to knee is 15 inches. £25.00.
Vintage canary 'moleskin' waistcoat (fits a 38-inch bust) in good condition with some light general wear and marks to the inside lining from age and use which do not show on the outside. Still a very smart waistcoat. £5.00.

Whippy side-saddle, 18in, medium fit (21in long in total; 14in on the wide part of the seat, and 8in D-ring to D-ring). In usable condition, but could do with the front panel being replaced. It does not have a doeskin seat but this could be changed, along with leaping and fixed heads, but is usable as it is. It does have worm holes (old) but the tree is sound. I have been told it would be worth having the restoration done at some time. £350.

FOR SALE17-inch side saddle, medium fit, being used at the moment on a slim Fjord horse. This is an old saddle but in excellent order, there is one patch on the leaping head about 1-inch long but the rest of the saddle is in excellent order. It comes complete with Sefton girth, 3-fold leather girth and leather and stirrup. It has been used regularly and is good for jumping as it has quite a high leaping head. It has been maintained by a side saddle specialist. It has a Mayhew quick-release stirrup-bar system and scrubs up nicely for the showring. £1,000.00.
