Sophie
Sculpted by James Moore, this porcelain figurine (approx. 9 1/2 in high) is based on 'Sophie', a character in one of Georgette Heyer's Regency novels. She is dressed in a habit of the early nineteenth century; the short, braided jacket is called a spencer (or spenser), derived from the Spenser family. To make a period habit very similar to this style, click here for the Side Saddle Lady dressmaking patterns page (P10 Regency Wardrobe pattern).
